Before you decide which Training Provider to go with, Please take time to check out if they are really going to provide you with the full requirements and qualifications you will need for the chosen area of work you will follow, be it the Gas, Electrical or Plumbing routes. The following are questions you should be asking the Training Provider:

Q) Will the qualifications at the end of this course help me seek full time employment?
A) All courses run by Gastec are fully accredited with either CITB or City & Guilds so all carry the prestigious certification bodies full support and unequivocal guarantee that the delivery and certification of courses are meet and presented to very rigorous and high standard which is recognised by major companies nationwide.

Q) Do you run all your courses or do you engage outside training organisations?
A) All courses run by Gastec are carried out with Gastec’s own fully qualified Training staff we do not use outside organisations for the delivery of any MOD/New Entrant Course.

Q) Are all your Training staff qualified?
A) All Gastec Staff are fully qualified and totally proficient in all the areas they train or assess, It is a requirement by CITB And City & Guilds that Trainers and Assessors hold the relevant qualifications and that process is rigorously vetted every year by a full Certification audit program.

Q) What is your maximum number on a course?
A) Because all our courses are run on a monthly basis, and due to the large size of our classrooms and workshop facilities we restrict the maximum candidates to 15. We are also able to have a 5:1 ratio on candidates training, (That is 5 candidates to 1 trainer on practical in the workshop) as on all courses, we have 3 fully qualified trainers.

Q) Do you provide work placement?

A) We at Gastec do offer work placement on a national coveragefor MOD service leavers only, but you must hold a full UK driving licence, working in close partnership with several major companies we are able to offer work placement as close to your home base as is possible, obviously rural areas there may be an element of travelling. However if you are in a position to seek and provide your own, that may be more beneficial too you, as then it would be very local to your area. With placement in a lot of cases it can turn out to be a permanent Job offer provided both the employer and yourself find there is a good relationship. We at Gastec also have a very good track record of actually placing candidates into full time work, This is of course dependant on ability and commitment shown to the Company concerned. We do actually state that we offer Work Placement in writing, both on this site and on all our Information packs, “Can others be so brave and honest about their ability to offer the same service”!!

Q) Are You a CTP Careers Transition Partnership Approved Provider?
A) YES, We at Gastec are proud to be a Careers Transition Partner and fully understand it’s obligations to Service Leavers, Beware of Centres whom are not CTP, they offer the earth, With a free this and that, but deliver nothing and can easily disappear off the face of the earth as quick as they set up, and probably with your hard earned money. Why, because they do not have to comply with the strict centre approval and monitoring systems in place by the CTP. We at Gastec have undergone a complete company check out and full audit which happens on a regular basis, our doors are open at all times to CTP Auditors we have nothing to hide.

Q) Are You an ELC Enhanced Learning Credit Provider?
A) YES, We at Gastec are also proud to be able to offer Service Leavers the chance to claim their ELC entitlement and use on a majority of Gastec’s Courses. Unlike some centres who state they have applied or will be offering it soon!! An Authentic, Registered ELC centre will show the ELC Logo and Registration Number, Very much like our centre, which incidentally has a Registration number of 1619 and can be checked with ELCAS at any time. If a centre does not show it, then it is not an ELC Provider and subsequently the course they may offer, will be at full cost to yourself, and your ELC allowance can not be used, which would be a great shame because it would make the course even cheaper for you.

Q) Have you any candidate whom I could talk to or see any testimonials?
A) Yes, Of course we have, If you would like to speak to candidates who have been trained or assessed by Gastec staff simply call us and we can arrange for you to talk to in excess of over 300 satisfied clients, or read our numerous glowing testimonials. If you would prefer to visit the centre prior to booking onto a course this is something we do actively encourage, you can then compare the truly great facilities we at Gastec can offer, compared to some dubious facilities that other centres strive to aspire to.
